Hi.
I want to share my observations with you.
It has been some time since last time I have played CS 1.6, so, without any warm up, I connected to the server, and what did I see?
Map #1: de_dust2_2x2 - no balance, CT storming T base, some of the CT die during the process, but still one sided game, and "RTV".
Map #2: de_dust2 - auto assigned to the T, +- balance at start of the map (by pure luck), CT manages to win some rounds, while doing that some of them run without SHIFT through T spawn, and die, repeatedly. "Live and learn?" - "No, thank you"
"Camper, camper!" - I am not a camper, I see the team position on the radar, and I understand that some one needs to cover the back approaches to the team - and that is exactly what I do, I am guarding an area through which the enemy can get to the team and kill it from the back.
So "no camper" if the enemy without any need, by his own decision, goes to the T spawn only to get killed. "No need?" - CT plant A, plant B, and death at T spawn do not mix.
So yeah, "no camper", and I find it strange that covering back of the team is something that is done (if done at all) on very rare occasions by other players.
Moving on, same de_dust2, new players join T, the unbalance slowly builds up, core CT players leave, and total unbalance settles in.
T has some 3 strong players (strong? due to unbalance?) "farming" CT, while the CT has maybe one strong player to deal against those 3, other CT are some +- noobs on who you can't really rely on.
I join CT, because the game for a strong team, in my understanding, is BORING. "Tryharding against the weak team?" - more on that later.
So I had joined the CT, balance wise not much has changed, the game felt uninteresting, and one sided, and I left.
I come back after some time...
Map #3: de_nuke - T locked at the truck, CT storming the truck, and eventual "RTV", I leave.
I come back after some time...
Map #4: de_tuscan - CT T 11 - 2, with some of the CT players TRYING REALLY HARD while playing against a losing team 11 - 2 - WHAT? - beyond low, and stupid too, and disrespectful to the players on the losing team, but "no one cares".
"no one cares", and I end up giving free HS to those CT that think that it is smart to run through enemy spawn with no SHIFT in search of frags, but then the "no one cares" becomes "Camper! Camper! Slay! Slay!" - CT T 11 - 2 - "huh?"
And that is about it, not much has changed since my last visit, but there is more.
The players need to understand that playing an unbalanced game is like wasting your time. Why wasting time? Because balanced game forces the player to develop skills to get to the top, and the unbalanced game does not offer sufficient challenge to the winning team, the players on the winning team are fooled by their false belief in their "good skill". Why false? Because the moment the same "good skill" player joins the weak team, that player (in most cases) instantly fails to make any impact on the balance of the game.
Bla, bla, bla...
In short:
IF you play with no balance, you don't know your true skill.
IF you play with no balance, you can't check your true skill.
IF you play with no balance, you are fooling yourself in believing that you are good. Anyone can play for the strong team, it is easy.
IF you play with no balance, you decide to move towards the "stupid and weak" instead of moving towards "smart and strong". The "smart and strong" is provided by the balanced game only.
In situations where +- good player manages to kill me while playing for the strong team, I can go "no balance" = "no skill".
So, yeah... What the balance? "I has 10 - 0 for the strong team while CT - T 10 - 0, I am super high skill" - you really believe in that?
A simple balancing system that swamps the strongest player in the winning team with medium player on the losing team will do great things for those who want the "real high skill". Don't want the "real high skill"? Then you are wasting your time.
Imagine if all this time the players were playing a balanced CS 1.6. "Got skill?"

I appreciate how you took the time to explain your perspective in a balanced and constructive way. It’s refreshing to see such a positive and open-minded contribution in a forum discussion, especially when so many online spaces can become negative or dismissive. You managed to highlight your points without sounding condescending or argumentative, which helps create an environment where people feel comfortable sharing their own opinions.
What really stands out is the clarity and organization of your ideas. You present your thoughts logically and back them up with examples or reasoning that make sense, which helps the reader follow along and actually learn something new. It’s evident that you’ve either done your research or have meaningful personal experience on the topic. Posts like yours not only add value to the conversation but also elevate the overall tone of the discussion.
Another thing worth mentioning is your attitude toward differing viewpoints. You acknowledge other sides of the argument without dismissing them, which shows maturity and respect for the diversity of thought that makes forums like this so valuable. It encourages genuine dialogue rather than one-sided debates. I think that kind of engagement is what keeps communities healthy and growing — people feel heard, and they’re more likely to contribute when the atmosphere is welcoming and thoughtful.
Even beyond the specific topic, your post demonstrates the kind of positive participation that every online community needs. It’s encouraging, informative, and written with a genuine interest in helping others understand or think more deeply. Whether someone fully agrees with you or not, they can still appreciate the effort you put into articulating your point of view. That’s something worth recognizing.
Overall, excellent job — your contribution adds real value to the forum. I hope you continue to share your insights and keep engaging with others here. Posts like this remind us why open discussion spaces are important in the first place: they allow people to exchange ideas, learn from one another, and grow through conversation. Keep it up — it’s the kind of positivity and thoughtfulness that makes a lasting impression.
